Black Belt Clinic Weekend 2009

Seido's annual Black Belt Clinic will be held the weekend of June 5th, 6th, and 7th at Honbu. Be sure to register now to guarantee a place at what promises to be one of the most memorable Black Belt Clinics ever!

South Africa to host 2009 International Event & Benefit Tournament

Seido students from around the world will travel to South Africa this December to participate in Capetown's international celebration. Under the direction of Kyoshi Anver Wahab, Kyoshi George Wong, and Sensei Nesan Naidoo, Seido Capetown is hosting their 4-day celebration and benefit tournament, December 3-6, 2009.

Seido Promotes Its First Hanshi

In June 2008 three Seido Karate senior students, Charles Martin, Renzie Hanham and Andy Barber, were promoted to Hanshi, 8th degree black belts. They were the first Seido members ever promoted to this rank by Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura, the founder of Seido Karate.

Volunteers: We Need Help at Hunter College in October!

The 32nd Anniversary Tournament is almost upon us, and preparations are in high-gear to put together the enormous all-volunteer effort that annually produces our Anniversary Tournaments.

This year, we'll be holding our Tournament at Hunter College on Saturday, October 18th. We need help on that day, plus help setting up days before, and help cleaning up and doing transportation that night.

Plus we'll need help in the weeks leading up to the Tournament as well.

32nd Anniversary Tournament Announced

The 32nd Anniversary Tournament will take place on Saturday, October 18th, 2008 -- offering a full-day schedule of competition, demonstrations, and special programs.

And following-up on the success of last year's Children's Tournament, Seido Kids will return and compete on the same day as adults once more, adding to the array of Seido talent that will be on display.

Beach Training 2008

Beach Training 2008 will occur on Sunday, August 3rd, 2008 -- a wonderful opportunity for all Seido karateka to train outdoors in a beautiful setting, and join together in fun and games afterwards.

Beach Training is one of the few opportunities for Seido members to train in tune with nature and each other; Kaicho has often remarked on the importance of practicing karate in natural settings to enhance one's training.
