Benefit Foundation
The Seido Juku Benefit Foundation is the nonprofit branch of the World Seido Karate Organization. Founded in 1987, the Seido Juku Benefit Foundation strives to share the mental, physical, and spiritual benefits of karate with nontraditional martial arts students and also raises funds on behalf of community programs throughout New York City.
The Seido Juku Benefit Foundation provides financial support and instruction for students who would otherwise not be able to train in karate, including the blind, the deaf, homeless children, developmentally disabled adults, and battered women. In addition, the Foundation provides financial support for local community programs, including those benefiting children with HIV/AIDS, victims of breast cancer, at-risk teenagers, and the homeless. Over the past twenty years, the Seido Juku Benefit Foundation and the World Seido Karate Organization have donated more than $200,000 to a variety of nonprofit organizations, including the American Red Cross, Coalition High School, Domestic Abuse Services, Inc., Hale House, Hospitality House and Project Hospitality, the New York City Fire and Police Departments, NYC PPI, SHARE, Sunshine for Kids, the Young Adult Institute, and many others.
Through such donations, both financial and organizational, the Seido Juku Benefit Foundation strives to share the non-quitting spirit of karate with students who are best able to reap the rewards of such training. By sharing the Seido spirit and the principles of sincerity and love, the Seido Juku Benefit Foundation helps both Seido students and members of the general public become better individuals, for only through such sharing can people fully realize their human potential.
